The Four Steps To A Happy Marriage That's Built To Last

When you meet somebody for the first time and start to fall in love, it is easy to get caught up in the initial intensity of the relationship. However, at some point or another your mind will start to wonder whether or not the relationship could go the full distance. Finding your life partner is no mean feat – all sorts of things need to come together to make a relationship work, and many people take a long time to finally find the person that they are going to spend the rest of their lives with. It all starts with that first meeting – and here are the five big steps in an early relationship. If all of these are in place then the chances are you will live a long and happy life together.

Tips for Happy Marriage

Step One – The Meeting

Couples meet in all sorts of ways. Some are introduced by mutual friends, others find each other online, or it could even happen as a result of a twist of fate bringing you together. No matter how you meet, if the relationship starts to develop then you will begin by enjoying all the passion that it brings. You will be texting and ringing each other all the time, your heart will skip when you receive an email from them, and you will constantly be looking forward to the next time you can be together. This is a lovely stage of a relationship but it’s important to remember that the fervor will diminish a little as real love takes over.

Step Two – The Progression

As your relationship matures you will learn a lot more about each other, and perhaps spend longer periods of time together. The fire starts to die, and it’s at this stage that any personality clashes will probably make themselves apparent. Some couples split up during this time because they find that after the initial lust wears off, there’s not much left underneath. If however you find that you can be great companions, then this is a very promising sign.

Step Three – Moving In

When the relationship is established you’ll probably move in together. This is a bold step and a good way of finding out whether you can actually live together all of the time without driving each other nuts! You’ll start to socialize with each other’s friends a little more, and start to be known as a couple. Living together can change things somewhat, so it’s important to remember to keep making time for each other. Plan a date night once a week so that things don’t get stale.

Step Four – Talking About the Future

The issue of children is a big one, and if one person wants kids but the other doesn’t, this can spell the end of a relationship. It’s important to have an honest discussion about what you both want for the future. Don’t be surprised if a platinum engagement ring materializes at this point!
When you let a relationship evolve naturally it is much more likely to last longer – so take your time and only consider marriage when you are totally sure about each other.
