Kindle Fire HDX Vs. IPad

Kindle Fire HDX vs. iPad
It’s inevitable that every new powerful tablet will be compared to the most recent iPad model, and everyone is doing that with Amazon’s new Kindle Fire HDX. The Kindle has been a popular e-reader and tablet model for a long time, but the Fire HDX is pushing the boundaries when it comes to power and usability. It has many evolutionary changes that increase its speed and power, but there are also some revolutionary features that make the iPad look like a child’s toy.

Kindle Fire HDX Vs. IPad

Processing Power

Apple rarely likes benchmarking its CPUs. They would rather talk about the benefits and interesting features, which is probably a good idea because their CPUs are fairly slow. The Apple A6X CPU found in the iPad 4 is around 1.4GHz, which is a decent speed. At the same time, it can’t compare to the Fire HDX’s Snapdragon 800 CPU. This quad-core processor is benchmarked at around 2.2GHz, which is significantly faster than the iPad.

Display and Resolution

This comes down to your personal preference. If you like larger displays, then you’ll want the iPad because it comes with a 9.7-inch display. The Fire HDX is a fairly large tablet when compared to other modern models, but it only has an 8.9-inch display. If you want a better resolution for clearer images, then the Fire HDX is the winner. The iPad’s resolution is around 264ppi. That was great years ago, but Apple is starting to show its age. Amazon’s tablet has a resolution of about 339ppi.

Price

Amazon is not selling the Kindle for profit. Instead they want you to be using the device to buy ebooks, apps, and purchase millions of items offered at Amazon.com. So even though the Kindle Fire HDX specs are much better than its rivals, the price is just a fraction of what others are offering. Price starts at $229 but you can use Kindle Fire HDX promo code here to save even more on device and book purchases.

Camera

Apple products are known for having great cameras, but the iPad slips a little in this category. It only has a 5MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front camera. The Fire HDX has an 8MP rear camera and a 720p front camera that is perfect for live chats and recording movies. Speaking of recording movies, both tablets are able to record in either 1080p or 720p.

Weight

It doesn’t matter if you’re reading a book or watching a movie. Tablets are meant to be held, but they can feel heavy after a few minutes. The Fire HDX only weighs slightly more than 13 ounces, which is fairly light when compared to similar tablets. The iPad weighs about 23 ounces, which will feel heavy unless you rest the tablet on your lap or a solid surface.

Mayday Feature

This is one of the biggest changes with the Fire HDX. If you need technical support, then just press the Mayday button. An Amazon representative will contact you through the tablet so that you can discuss your technical problems. This is a completely new feature that has never been seen on any other tablet. Apple is long known for having great support at its various physical stores, but the problem is that no one wants to keep driving to the store to get help. If you’re skittish when it comes to new technology, then the Mayday feature might make things much easier for you.

Conclusion

The iPad excels in many areas. It has more apps, a large display and proven reliability. At the same time, the Fire HDX is much stronger, easier to use and its convenient Mayday button is poised to change the entire tablet market.

This will allow you to gain a clearer perspective of how the finished upgrades will look. You have so many options for add-ons and you’ll always be able to find that perfect window design, exact floor covering or wood / faux wood blinds that you are hankering after.  You can alter the dimensions as you continue and there is no excuse for a shoddy end product. The only downside of the app is that you will need to spend a little time getting use to the usability before you can start getting the desired results. But overall this is a very cool piece of kit that will offer some stunning results.

This is a groovy app that will certainly get the artistic juices flowing like a river!

iOS At Your Command!
