It is important you start forming your style by taking care of the essential items first. You don’t need to spend a fortune or have a dedicated room for all of your clothes. By just focusing on few essential items you can get yourself a timeless wardrobe that can be easily added to with new items to create trendy and fresh looks.
Here are some top tips to help you out when you are buying wardrobe essentials.

Wardrobe Essentials buying tips

Focus On Simplicity

Wardrobe essentials must be all about simplicity and you can leave playing with patterns and cuts for the wardrobe fillers and seasonal items. You want your essential clothes and shoes to be able to be matched with a lot of different options and be something that is timeless and always looks good.

Go for simple cut trousers and blouses, which can be sparkled up with accessories. You want your essentials to provide you with a canvas, which you can then use to build your own unique style.

Go For Neutral Colours

When you are looking for wardrobe essentials it is important to get them in simple and neutral colours. The most obvious choices are black and white. Ensure you have at least one pair of black trousers, leggings and a black simple skirt.

On t-shirts and blouses white and beige are much better options. You can also go for blue or red as these two are usually quite timeless and depending on your skin tone might look better than white on you.

Get Essential Accessories As Well

Having a good timeless wardrobe doesn’t just require few must have clothes but you also need to focus on getting yourself essential accessories as well. The key areas of accessories include jewellery, scarfs, and bags.

In jewellery it is important that you have one set of simple golden, or silver if you prefer it more, earrings and necklace with a simple bracelet as well. Another must have is a set of pearl jewellery, which goes well with a more official look.

In scarfs it is important you have one large silk scarf to wear with a cocktail dress for example and also a good woolly scarf for the colder weather.

You need to have at least two bags. You should have one handbag to go with an evening dress and one every day handbag to go with your work clothes.

Invest In Quality

The key to buying good wardrobe essentials lies in getting items that are of a good quality. Real Simple has an excellent guide about the essential items in your wardrobe that you need invest money in so you go for quality and the ones you don’t need to fuss too much about.

Online Shopping: Six Tips To Have A Great Experience

Online shopping is fantastic. There are no queues, no trading hours, and you have your pick of a wider range of items than ever before. But, with all of the joys of online shopping, there are a few things that you need to know to keep yourself – and your money – safe. Here are six things to remember when you’re delving into the world of online shopping...

Online Shopping tips

Check the URL before you give away your details
This is important, particularly when you are dealing with URLs that you have accessed through other websites. Whenever you are giving away personal information such as your credit card details, make sure that the URL starts with ‘https.’ The ‘s’ means ‘secure, and ensures that your details remain exclusively with that company, and can’t be hacked into by others.

Beware of the fine print
One of the big lures of online shopping is the promise of bargains, deals, and great value on products. This is particularly true of brands that have bricks and mortar stores, as well as online ones. However, make sure that you take into account the cost of postage and handling, as well as any other extra ‘service’ charges that would be included at check-out. Also remember: if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Check user ratings
This is particularly true of online dealings between independent consumers on sites like eBay, but is also a good tip for dealing with companies online. Check out what other people on the Internet think about the person you are dealing with. Are they reliable and honest, or are they the start of far too many internet horror stories?

Make sure that you know what you want to buy, and that you’re actually buying it
This sounds like stupid advice, but given the amount of returns that online shopping companies process due to incorrect orders, it’s probably a piece of wisdom that needs to be reiterated. It’s easier to make the mistake of ordering a black kettle instead of a while one online when the difference is an option in a drop down menu, rather than in-store when you have to physically pick up the incorrect item off the shelf.

Be sure of your size
This is a special tip for those who buy clothes online. While it is great to escape the stress of clothes shopping in-store, buying clothes online is substantially harder because you lose the all-important opportunity to try them on in the change room.

To combat this, make sure that you measure yourself properly with a measuring tape before ordering, and consult the website’s size guide which can be found on the item page, so that you know exactly what you are ordering.

Don’t let one bad experience throw you off
Whether it was that person on eBay who never sent you your set of steak knives or the online version of your favourite shop that took two months to refund your regretted purchase, the reality is that online shopping can be hit and miss. But, when it works, you’ll wonder why anyone ever steps inside a shopping mall.

How To Dress Well In The City

city dressing style

Dressing well in the city is a difficult skill to master; you are surrounded by the high flying business men and also the overly cool kids of Camden. For the average guy it is becoming progressively hard to find a unique style that is innovative and cool but allows you also to walk around with confidence.

Many of the trends that are popular in the world today are extremely awkward to look and are often pretty weird if I am being honest. If you are looking to carry off a unique look in the city then you have got to look outside the box and explore all the avenues available to you.

The thing is, if you can find an individual style and master it then it will catch on and you will soon become the talk of the city, however if you don't you will probably get laughed at and lose all of your friends (half joking).
This article will highlight three ways in which you can improve your city image.

Act Cool

It is important to act cool with whatever you are wearing, this immediately adds to the prominence of the style you have decided to pursue. You can go for the standard jeans, pumps and a jacket and get by comfortably however if you want to get noticed in the city I'm afraid that just wont cut it.
In London specifically the fashion trends you will see as you walk around are pretty impressive (some frightening). The rise of the hipster image for both guys and girls has left many picking up the pieces of the fashion revolution. Charity stores and vintage shops have risen to prominence and the high street has been put firmly on the backburner. The evolution has been swift and relatively peaceful but that's not to say peoples images haven't been destroyed.

The competition for coolness is fierce, especially among the 20 something's of the city. My simple piece of advice, regardless of what you decide to wear is act cool, believe in what you are wearing and nobody will frown upon you. Be proud of your outfit, even if it isn't socially deemed "cool", stroll around as though it has been signed off by the hipster king of Camden.

Suit Up

This is an interesting point but one that applies to those in the city. If you are hitting the Mayfair clubs of London or the underground scene in Manchester then wearing a suit will get you the respect you crave. A suit is a foolproof way to look suave in whatever situation you find yourself in.
If you go for coffee with friends wearing a suit a slick suit, for sure you will loo
k cool. I know a suit might not be the most comfortable on a summer's day for example but if you carry off the look with some shades aswell it will be a hit with your friends and the women.

Hit the Internet

The internet is the perfect place to find your wardrobe content. Companies such as J-Bees offer a wide variety of jeans by urban brands such as G star and trainers that aren't necessarily available on the high street.
If you aren't willing to embrace the hipster image wholly this is the perfect site to find the middle ground you need.
