New wrinkle filler has recently joined the market. Though it
isn’t quite as mainstream Botox yet, still Xeomin has taken quite an audience
and is currently an “it” in the market.
On the other hand, Botox, the all-time wrinkle filler queen
has begun to be compared to the new and coming wrinkle fillers. The new product
has been FDA approved already and is being offered in clinics all over the
world.
Wrinkle Fillers
There are lots of wrinkle filler products in the market.
Botox though has the top spot because it was used widely around the world and
had the limelight first. Wrinkle fillers
aim to erase wrinkles around the face. The erasing of wrinkles causes someone
to look younger and even more open.
The wrinkle fillers works the same with which it paralyzes
wrinkles though the blocking of nerves to the muscles. This causes the targeted
muscle to not to contract, creating the smoother skin appeared after.
How Xeomin Originated
Xeomin is incobotulinumtoxin A which was made by Merz
Pharmaceuticals. It has even been approved to treat cervical dystonia and
blephrospasm. As with Botox, it is also made from the bacteria that produce
botulism. The result then is a temporary reduction of wrinkles, younger face.
Same again with Botox, it can address crow’s feet, forehead
wrinkles and frown lines. And before the US, Xeomin has already been approved
by 19 other countries.
How Xeomin is
Different from Botox
Xeomin has several advantages as compared to Botox. Here are
some of its positive components:
1.
It can be transported minus the refrigeration.
It can be possibly be easily distributed by its manufacturers to credited clinics.
2.
It has no additives. Meaning it only has the
Botulinum toxin A. this point may cause benefit such as you may have lesser
risk of developing antibodies that may contradict Xeomin as compared to other products.
3.
It can have visible effects in a week or less.
The result or the wrinkle free face can last as long as six months. And it’s
roughly the same with Botox.
Some caution though should be done once you decide to have
the product. Never use it interchangeably just for the heck of trying out which
is the best. This might cause some adverse effects on you.
Some Possible Risks
·
Spreading of toxin to other part of the body
which will be causing some breathing problem as well as problem in swallowing.
But then this can be for those who have Cerebral palsy. There is no reported
case of someone who had it for cosmetic purposes to have the above complication.
·
Bleeding and bruising. This can be possible in
the place of injection.
·
Itching and swelling. This can be possible
allergic reaction and should be consulted with your doctor fast.
·
Other side effects for Xeomin though may be present
when treating cervical dystonia and blepharospasm. For cosmetic purposes, it
has lesser risks and complications.
Some risks will be avoided if you do the right thing such as
avoiding to have it injected in non-medical places and having it done by board certified
and well experienced doctors. Being wise shouldn’t be a problem; after all it’s
your own health you are looking at.
So Will Xeomin Really
Take down Botox and Will Take its crown?
There are really good reviews for Xeomin. But we can guess
that Botox will not be abdicating that fast. It still has a following all over
the world. I guess familiarity does not fade fast. 2.8 million People receive
Botox treatment every year for both men and women.
Xeomin though has been taken by the Botox throwaways, meaning
those who developed a resistance on the popular Botox.
So will Botox be brought down? I guess, no. Not yet. Though
Xeomin has received positive rave, there is still the new market to handle and
the old market to penetrate. It needs a couple of more years for
familiarization before some would accept and embrace it.
But definitely, Xeomin will give Botox a handful and a
competition. The positive thing about competition is, there will be a
possibility that treatments will cost less later and everything will get better
and better.
The only thing that isn’t happy with Xeomin's worldwide
approval is Allergan. Yeah, Botox’s own.
Costs of Xeomin
Treatment
Xeomin may not be that far with Botox when it comes to prices. They are on the same
wavelength. And yes, costs will be further eroded as more and more country now is
letting Xeomin in for approval.
So will Merz topple over Allergan? Will Allergan’s monopoly
be cut now? Another year or so and we will see.
